If my memory serves me correctly, several Ubuntu updates had downloaded and installed within the past day or two. I shut down and restarted the PC (after closing everything, of course). I reinstalled VMPlayer under the repair mode. On the guest side, when I click the Network icon, the menu says "No network devices have been found". On the host side, both VMnet1 and VMnet8 indicate and show network connections. I have not install or reconfigured any software, but it's anyone's guess if either the automatic Windows or Ubuntu updates made any changes. For a year at least with Ubuntu 6.xx, 7.04, and 7.10 (until today) this was not a problem. ![]() Problem: Just this afternoon, when I start up Ubuntu, I get no network connection. (Guest network connection has been fine until this afternoon.) Network: Bridged, as the default is anyway during VM setup. I do not know how to determine the kernel version. Guest: Ubuntu 7.10, 32bit, all up to date (which occurs about every week). Host: Windows XP Pro, 32bit, all up to date. ![]()
